A Friendly Reminder

CODE OF CONDUCT

The Warrnambool & District Football Netball League is a proud and family friendly league that seeks to ensure all supporters enjoy the football and netball in a friendly and safe environment.

It’s disappointing that we are only heading into Round 4 and the league has received several reports from clubs about the disrespectful behaviour of spectators and players.   Whilst barracking and supporting the players is a part of the game, offensive language and behaviour is not and won’t be tolerated.

The WDFNL considers inappropriate:

-Racial taunts

-Threatening behaviour

-Offensive language, gestures or behaviour towards other patrons and players

-Any form of abuse, physical or verbal

-Any form of discrimination or harassment

Under the Members Protection Policy any person/s who do not obey this code of conduct, and depending on the severity of the behaviour, may be asked to leave the venue.  Suspension of membership may occur, if an investigation is conducted by the league following the incident.

Please go and enjoy the game of football and netball and be considerate of others in a manner that does not harm the reputation of your club or the league.

Ready for Round 3

After a split Round 2, our clubs are ready to roll into Round 3.

If you haven’t tuned into Rookie and Steph Townsend on the Netball Show on 93.5 3YB Saturday morning at 7am, make sure you do! This show is great listening and has a fantastic insight into what’s happening across our netball with interesting interviews with players and coaches.

Our Football and Netball Rising Stars and our volunteers are important to our league, so in the coming weeks we’ll feature profiles and photos.

This season our Under 12.5 football became our Under 13’s football competition allowing all those top aged players to continue to be involved in our league. The change in age bracket is designed to assist in creating and developing junior pathways through to our Under 15’s then Under 18’s football competition.  I look forward to seeing this competition to continue to grow throughout the season.

Once again, the league is very proud of the netball representing us in the Netball Association Champs, to be held in Warrnambool this year. Any junior netball players interested please register via the Google form link http://forms.gle/xBidu4hnD8CLkRCs7 or for more details contact Sara Quinn, WDFNL Junior Development Officer.

This weekend will produce some absolute ripper matches in both football and netball.

To all the club, players, coaches, members, sponsors and supporters, best of luck for this weeks games.
