The stage is set for another blockbuster clash between last year’s senior football grand finalists in round 12 of the Warrnambool and District league.
Merrivale (first) and Nirranda (fourth) go head-to-head for the first time since round three, when the Tigers prevailed by 59 points.
The Blues were missing a lot of personnel that night so expect a much tighter contest this time around.
Fifth-placed Old Collegians will be looking to rebound after back-to-back defeats when they take on Dennington (eighth).
The Warriors will need to do so without reliable defender Matthew Petherick, who succumbed to an achilles injury in round 11.
In the A-grade netball, Merrivale’s clash with Nirranda also looms as the match of the round.
The Tigers have only lost one game in 2025, with one draw and nine wins, while the Blues are undefeated as they chase a fourth straight premiership.
Dennington (fourth) versus Old Collegians (fifth) is an important game for both clubs.
The Dogs are six-points behind third-placed Allansford and need the win to keep in touch, while the Warriors only lead sixth-placed Kolora-Noorat on percentage and will be desperate to maintain their advantage.
In the other fixtures, Timboon Demons play South Rovers, Panmure faces Allansford and Kolora-Noorat takes on Russells Creek.

We’re halfway through the Warrnambool and District league season and so far, it’s yet to disappoint.
In round 10 of the A-grade netball, there is a lot on the line when Kolora-Noorat hosts Old Collegians.
The Power, sixth, are one-win behind the fifth-placed Warriors and a victory would be huge for their top-five chances.
The Warriors have found their groove though, winning their past three games, and will be eager to extend the gap between them and the bottom-five sides.
Timboon Demons (seventh) and Russells Creek (eighth) is another clash between two sides near each other on the ladder.
A win for either club is vital to keeping their top-five chances alive.
In the senior football, the eighth-placed Power will be desperate to arrest a three-game losing streak when they take on the Warriors.
The Power haven’t been far off the mark in recent weeks but will need to be at their best against the Warriors, who have won their past four games.
The Demons (sixth) need to upset the Creekers (third) to register their first win since round six.
The Creekers suffered their second loss of the season in round nine and will be looking to rebound in a big way.
In the other fixtures, South Rovers play Allansford, Panmure faces Merrivale and Dennington does battle with Nirranda.
